What was the highlight of Wyndham Tamarindo Hotel

I will visit again if the property will undergo much needed renovations.

The restaurant, including the food and staff service were good to very good for the dinner service. The breakfast was just average in food selection.

The room that was assigned to us initially in bloc 2 was completely run down, with grey bed sheets, abused pillows, water dropping from the ceiling which was probably coming from the AC unit, the TV was analog from 15 - 20 years ago, and the smell in the room was unbearable. We were prepared to leave and go somewhere else in town when the front desk finally decided to change our room to bloc 3 where the quality of the room and the amenities was more like what one would expect for the price paid.

Wonderful

My wife and daughter wanted to go horseback riding on the beach. A gentleman selling excursions at a desk in the lobby sold them a package he said would take them horseback riding in the mountains and end on the beach .... the joke was on us .... nowhere near the beach and far more expensive than the beach rides we later saw near town.

Hotel with the best views in town and access to great beach club. Rooms and shuttle frequency need an update.

The view (every room has sea view), the beach club access, the amenities at the hotel, the tour operator, cleanlines

The frequency of the shuttle to downtown and the beach club; once per hour is too less and big chance to miss it, the rooms need an update because the wear and tear is very visible. the rooms were very clean though.

Overall my family and I had a great time.

Great view! The infinity pool is a great spot to relax, and the wet bar makes nice drinks. Access to the Langosta Beach Club was a nice bonus and also great spot to spend some time. The shuttle into Tamarindo was very helpful, we used it several times a day.

We felt like the rooms weren’t being cleaned very well.

Good location just out of town center. Great view and facilities, okay breakfast, shoddy WiFi.

Distance from the town center is nice as you aren't in the hustle and bustle all day. View from the balcony is great as it overlooks the trees/beach. Infinity pool and swim-up bar are very nice. Breakfast was good but not great, staff was very pleasant.

Wi-Fi was shoddy. It only worked about 30% of the time. Had a hard time getting emails/video-calls/Netflix to operate with significant lag/buffering. Breakfast was good but not great. Overall a good stay if you don't need to work whilst traveling.

Lady at the desk charged me twice for deposit and twice for the final bill. I had to wait more than week when the money are lifted from blocked back to my account.

This is a great hotel. We we worried from some of the reviews but it appears a lot of people are too precious! The towels aren’t thin like a lot of people say. Pool is really nice but could do with some shade. The exterior could also have a paint touch up. Brekky really good and the air con in the rooms was probably the best I have stayed at.

Beautiful view, infinitely pool at sundown, Langosta Beach Club and reception staff

Great place to relax towards to end of a trip

Amazing ocean view from the room, lovely balcony, comfy beds. Friendly staff, free shuttle service into Tamarindo. Infinity pool with lovely views. Good breakfast with variation every day

Pool side shaded all morning and baking hot most of the afternoon which is why we went to the beach club but you can't really help the orientation of the hotel!

Nice and quiet

Very nice setup with a ocean view no matter where you are. All rooms are only ocean view. Very decent breakfast - the local fresh fruits are out of this world. Get a massage - reasonably priced (150 per couple with a quick facial). Overall the staff is friendly and the hotel has all the basic amenities, including nice swimming pool

Far from the beach - you have to drive, take a hotel provided shuttle which runs only every hour or even less frequently, else walk (probably around 20-30 mins depending on where you are going).

Hotel is very beautiful but remote. Would definitely stay there again.

Pool was beautiful. Breakfast was good. Staff were accommodating. Views were stunning.

Hotel is high up in the hills. Accessible by car/taxi/shuttle. Not very walkable.

Location, restaurant, staff- especially Jeffrey from the restaurant, the pool, pool bar, food, breakfast and cleanliness

No drawers or place to sit in the rooms, water bottles not complementary and cost about $6 per bottle, mosquitoes without option to spray, shuttle schedule is very infrequent and not available for pickup

I had a lovely stay will return.

Breakfast was excellent I really enjoyed the traditional Costa Rican option.

The property is up in a hill and a shuttle is needed to get to town the shuttle stops running from 7:00 am until 9:30 . the shuttle should run every hour from 7:am until 9:00pm.
